DENTAL HYGIENE: our tips for you!
Have you ever been in front of the dental products section at the grocery store and became confused by the huge variety of options? No problem, because we have the suggestions for you.
Toothpaste: There are many toothpaste options, but for an adult, choosing a toothpaste that contains fluoride will help keep your teeth healthy. Tooth brushing should be done for two minutes, at least twice a day, ideally after meals, but especially before going to bed at night.
*Caution! Beware of whitening toothpastes, as they may contain abrasive products that can harm your teeth in the long term. Consult your dentist to find out what would be your best option.
Flossing: Contrary to what most people think, you should floss BEFORE you brush your teeth. Floss wrapped around the fingers is the best option, but stick flossers also work well, especially for children and the elderly.
Toothbrush: It is recommended to use a soft bristle toothbrush and to brush your teeth in a rotating motion to avoid damaging the gums. It is also recommended to change toothbrushes every 3-4 months.
Mouthwash: Someone who brushes their teeth twice a day and flosses everyday does not need to add mouthwash to their hygiene. However, to improve your breath, it can be helpful and it is best to choose one that is fluoride-supplemented and ALCOHOL-FREE so as not to dry out the mouth and contribute to the problem of bad breath.
We hope you find these suggestions useful! 😄
