The intraoral scanner: CEREC Primescan
14-06-2023
At Clinique dentaire Beaulieu, Lapointe et associés, we are proud to use, as of now, an intraoral scanner, the CEREC Primescan, on our patients to obtain digital impressions. This innovative technology will allow us to reduce the need for traditional impressions, which are often uncomfortable for patients and harmful to the environment.
Intraoral scanners are becoming increasingly popular in dental clinics for their accuracy and efficiency. But what is an intraoral scanner? An intraoral scanner is a portable device used directly in the mouth to obtain digital impressions of the oral cavity. Complete dental arches can be scanned, and a 3D model can then be created by a scanning software that can be displayed in real time on a computer screen. The Intraoral Scanner provides precise details of the mouth's hard and soft tissues in high-quality images, which can then be transmitted to the laboratory technician for the manufacture of customized prostheses or crowns.
The intraoral scanner offers many advantages for both dental professionals and patients, providing a simple and precise working option. Digital impressions are the latest technology to deliver excellent results in a wide range of areas of dentistry. By reducing discomfort for patients and saving time for dentists, intraoral scanners offer a safe and reliable alternative to traditional impressions.
