Why is sterilization important? Sterilization is an essential aspect of any dental clinic, regulated by strict standards. A high quality sterilization protocol is crucial to ensure that patients are treated with instruments that are free of any micro-organisms (bacteria, viruses and others). At the Clinique dentaire Beaulieu, Lapointe et associés, we use Stéritraces: a traceability software that allows us to have better control over the sterilization of the various instruments used in the clinic. Using a digital system, each bag and cassette is identified by a QR code that can be scanned directly into the patient's file for which the instruments were used. This sterilization system is the first software of its kind in North America. It allows us to maintain a very high caliber sterilization protocol in our dental clinic, with the fundamental goal of protecting our patients.
